Elisabeth Feryn is a freelance photographer specializing in documentary, portraiture and publicity photography (see CV). Her professional career also encompasses teaching digital photography, from beginners with their new cameras, to advanced techniques and digital workflow. In 1984 Elisabeth began her professional photographic career working with established Canadian photographer John Reeves. She mastered the unique art of the fine black and white print by spending many hours in the darkroom, perfecting the techniques of toning and balancing just the right amount of light with shadow. Elisabeth’s many years of working with film to get the perfect image have honed her ability to make the most of the digital camera and “digital darkroom”. Elisabeth’s career has included commercial work and theatre photography, as well as pursuing her own artistic practice. She has worked in Europe and North America, with clients as diverse as Loreena McKennitt, Timothy Findley, the Stratford Festival Theatre, the Shaw Festival and the Contemporary Art Forum Kitchener and Area (CAFKA). Elisabeth has shown her photo-based artwork at the Grand Theatre, London ON, at Gallery 96, Stratford ON, and at Ryerson University in Toronto ON.
